Immigrating to a new country can be a challenging and overwhelming experience, especially for those who are not familiar with the legal and administrative processes involved. One of the most important things for immigrants to keep in mind is the importance of maintaining their immigration documents and staying aware of any expiration dates.

For example, one such document that is critical for maintaining an individual's immigration status is the I-94. The I-94 is a form that is issued to individuals upon their arrival in the United States and it serves as proof of their legal status. When an individual's I-94 expires, they start accruing what is known as "unlawful presence." This means that they are in the country without legal authorization and can lead to negative consequences.

Did you know: If an individual's I-94 expires and they remain in the country for more than six months, they can be barred from re-entering the United States for a period of three years. This can be a major setback for those who have invested time and resources into building a life in the US, and can make it difficult or impossible to achieve their goals, such as obtaining a green card.

Given the importance of maintaining immigration documents and staying aware of expiration dates, it's essential that immigrants stay on top of all their deadlines and documents. This feature is meant to do exactly that!
